Bulgari

The brand Bulgari was derived from his last name, written “BVLGARI” as in Latin, Sotirios Voulgaris, a silversmith offered silver pieces in Byzantine and Islamic art to the happy few in his boutique in Rome in 1884. His two sons Giorgio and Constantino, who adored precious stones, developed the business to a high-end jewelry brand and introduced in the 1940’s the ‘Serpenti’ bracelet-watches. After the launch of the prêt-à-porter jewelry as there are the B.Zero and the Parentesi in the 1980’s, BVLGARI introduced a wide range of leather bags and accessories, adorned with jewelry inspired clasps and fasteners, of which the Serpenti-bag and Bulgari Tina bags are good examples.
