Balenciaga
Cristobal Balenciaga founded the fashion house in 1919 in San Sebastian and expanded his business slowly to Madrid, Barcelona and Paris. In 1959 the press called him “The King of Parisian Fashion”, renowned for his technical approach and his mastery of materials. After he retired in 1968, different designers took over the artistic direction but kept the specific Balenciaga style alive. Until today, the Balenciaga First Arena and City bags remain highly sought after pieces.
